Wise Security Ensures Safety at Copper Box Arena’s “House of Kong” and Gorillaz Concert Series

Wise Security proudly oversaw the remarkable transformation of the Copper Box Arena for the unique exhibition “The House of Kong”, followed by four unforgettable Gorillaz concerts.

The House of Kong offered fans an immersive journey into the history of Gorillaz. Visitors explored early artwork, stepped inside Damon’s iconic tour van, and experienced the band’s creative process first hand—a truly interactive Gorillaz experience.

Throughout the exhibition, our team managed all Security and Safety Stewarding, ensuring smooth operations while half of the Copper Box hosted the exhibition and the other half remained functional for daily use.

Following the exhibition, Gorillaz delivered four electrifying performances featuring special guests. Each night showcased a different album:

Gorillaz

Demon Days

Plastic Beach

The final night, dubbed the “Mystery Show,” surprised fans with the debut of their unreleased fourth album, The Mountain.

Wise Security once again took full responsibility for Security and Stewarding, including:

Searching

Wayfinding

Ticket Scanning

Car Park Management

Pit Security

Response Teams

Crowd Management

Back-of-House Management

Accreditation Checks

This event was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience—one our team will never forget!

We recently held our Annual Supervisors Meeting, bringing together our lead team for a focused day of training, development, and collaboration. The session was designed to reinforce the standards we expect across all venues and equip our supervisors with the tools and confidence to lead effectively.

The day covered a wide range of essential topics, including:

The importance of reading and following instructions to avoid costly errors

Key responsibilities such as briefing staff, monitoring performance, and managing underperformance

The need for accurate documentation, including timesheets, registers, and incident reports

Practical training in fire extinguisher use, covering both theoretical knowledge and hands-on demonstrations

SCaN (See, Check and Notify) training, aimed at improving situational awareness, identifying suspicious behaviour, and knowing how to respond appropriately in customer-facing roles

James Wise, Managing Director, shared his insights on the day:

“This meeting was a fantastic opportunity to invest in our people. It was well received and highlighted the commitment our supervisors have to maintaining high standards. We’re focused on making our staff better – more confident, more capable, and more consistent in delivering excellent service. That’s how we expand as a team and as a business.”

As we move forward, we remain committed to developing our teams, supporting our supervisors, and ensuring that every member of staff leads by example. The Supervisors Meeting was a strong reminder that great leadership starts with preparation, communication, and pride in the role.

Summer for Wise Security means Concerts! High profile acts at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, drawing in thousands upon thousands of music lovers, ranging from mosh pits at Green Day to the Swifties screaming for Taylor Swift.

A welcome break after a long football season, concerts offer a different challenge for the Wise Security team, as different demographics arrive to watch their stars play their biggest tunes. Quite often at the end of the night these screaming and shouting fans, don’t have much of a voice left!

This summer season has seen some incredible acts hit the stages, take a look at what we have been blessed to assist with:

Green Day at Wembley Stadium

Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium

Burna Boy at London Stadium

Foo Fighters at London Stadium

ACDC at Wembley Stadium

And with Bruce Springsteen and even more dates for Taylor Swift still to play under the famous arch at Wembley Stadium, we are having the time of our lives listening and watching these world class acts perform world class concerts.

But what does our team do? Take a look below.

At Wembley Stadium, Wise Security is responsible for the Blue Quad, with staff taking on crowd management, entry search procedures, customer service, ticket checking, and much more inside the stadium. If you’re in the Blue Quad, you know you’re in good hands at the National Stadium.

And at the London Stadium, Wise Security oversees all Hospitality areas, with staff dressed to impress for all our classy guests.

With a few more concerts to go, our team will have enjoyed all forms of music, from pop, rap, rock and everything in between. And we hope if you attended any of these events, you had a wonderful time too.

After two years away from Royal Ascot – 2023 saw the reopening of the Windsor Enclosure for Royal Ascot, and with it, Wise Security’s involvement in one of the most prestigious events in the country,

Royal Ascot see’s people from around the country, and the world, descend upon Ascot Racecourse for 5 days of world class horse racing.

This year was unique, as it would be the first Royal Ascot after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. In her stead, King Charles III made multiple appearances, and even had successful race horse winners.

Charles often visits at Royal Ascot during his time as a Prince, and is often seen praising Security, Catering and Cleaning staff for their fantastic job well done on his departure.

Royal Ascot see’s Wise Security committing over 100 staff each day, ranging from:

Fully Certificated Level 2 Spectator Safety Stewards

SIA Door Supervisors

Fully Certificated Level 3 Spectator Safety Supervisors

Event Managers

Daniel Frost, Wise Security Operation’s Manager, oversees operations for the duration and in the build up for Royal Ascot, and had this to say after the event, “Royal Ascot is always a unique challenge, blending a Horse Racing and Festival style vibe in the Windsor Enclosure. With our experienced team, many of whom have worked at Royal Ascot since 2018, we are able to handle all of the unique situations that head our way all with a smile in the Ascot Way.”

This event is often the pinnacle of the Summer season for Wise Security, our team are always chomping at the bit to take part in such a unique event, and we cannot wait for 2024, which as always will come round quicker than expected!

As the year comes to a close, we want to take a look back on the amazing year we have had at Wise Security Serviced Limited. Highlighting some of our key achievements and breaking down some of our accomplishments into neat stats! We hope you enjoy!

Wise Security oversaw a number of historic events, including the below:

England Women’s EURO Final Victory

Track Cycling at the Commonwealth Games

Queen’s Lying in State

Royal Ascot

The London Marathon

The Boat Race

Ride London

The Summertime Ball

UCI Track Cycling Champions League

6 Nights of Coldplay

The above does not even scratch the surface of the amazing experiences we have been a part of. Football is always a major draw for events, and this is the same for 2022. Wise Security assisted with over 140 Football matches, ranging from UEFA Champions League, Premier League, Championship and various Domestic Cup fixtures.

Notably we also supplied staff to Wembley Stadium on 35 occasions (all events at Wembley), including England’s epic Women’s UEFA European Championship victory, as well as 6 nights of Coldplay at the Summertime Ball.

The numbers don’t lie when it comes to how busy we have been, Wise Security have had over 35,000 staffing deployments, an incredible achievement bouncing back from COVID 19. That means on average, Wise Security had nearly 100 staff deployed every day.

2022’s most unique event was unfortunately a very sombre occasion. Following the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II, Wise Security were contracted to assist with Operation Bridges, a security plan that would take place on the passing of the Head of State.

Specifically, Wise Security played a major role in Operation Feather, this was the management of “The Queue”. Many of you will have seen the queue that culminated at the Victoria Tower Gardens, where a 3km Disney Queue (or “The Snake as it was dubbed by many”) traversed through the gardens on the final approach to Westminster Palace.

It was a great honour for Wise Security and all of our team to assist at such a historic event.

Looking back on 2022, we at Wise Security are proud of what we have achieved and are looking forward to an even bigger and better 2023. Bring it on!

This five day horse racing meeting was held on 14 to 18 June this year and like all previous meetings during Queen Elizabeth’s reign she attended again this year.

WISE SECURITY SERVICES LTD (WSSL) were delighted to be asked back this year after a hiatus due to COVID-19. With staffing numbers slightly increased this year to approximately 100 each day the company were pleased to supply; Access Control Search Teams, Trackside Safety Staff, Bar and VIP Safety Stewards and Security Operatives. In addition to which WSSL provided a full Management and Supervisory Team. They all worked closely and most effectively with the very experienced Ascot Sector Manager who made reference to the good work that they had all done and highlighted in particular the effectiveness of the Entry Control Search staff in their role admitting the 300,000 visitors over the 5 days.

The extremes of weather experienced this year put extra pressure on the staff working but we are pleased to say the WSSL personnel came through with flying colours. Dan Frost the WSSL Event Manager made reference to the many responsibilities that they had and identified the benefit he had in attending the SAG (Safety Advisory Group) meetings in order to be up to speed with details revolving around ‘The Royals’ and many other VIPs that attended.

Guy Henderson the CEO of Ascot Racecourse actually took time out to write to James Wise (WSSL MD) to personally thank him and his team for their hard work and dedication. He made reference to the customer feedback and media comment as being very strong and expressed his gratitude for the support of WSSL. He signed off by asking James to pass on congratulations and thanks to all that worked from the company.

Wembley Stadium hosted one of the first spectator event in the country on Sunday 18th April, as Southampton took on Leicester in an FA Cup Semi Final to decide who would play Chelsea in the final. The match saw just under 4000 spectators, from the local community and NHS workers, witness Leicester make their way to their fifth FA Cup Final appearance. Although they were not “fans”, it was a start.

Watching guests make their way into the stadium, many of whom for which it would have been their first time at the national stadium, looked awestruck. It’s not hard to be when entering the 90,000 seater arena, with the Wembley Arch looking over you. These spectators may not have had a preference of winner, but they made enough noise that we are sure that everybody working in the stadium would have cracked a smile upon hearing the cheers for the only goal in the game.

With Leicester booking their tickets to the final, there were more events to come.

The Carabao Cup final hosted between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City saw a doubling of the spectators, still with 4000 local/NHS attendees, but now with 2000 fans from both teams. The cheers louder, the groans louder, and the celebrations from travelling Manchester City fans certainly louder as they secured another League Cup for their trophy cabinet.

After the Carabao Cup final we saw the big one, The FA Cup Final. Hosted between Chelsea and Leicester City, an all blue battle at Wembley Stadium. 20000 fans, filling up the stadium lower seating areas (social distancing allowed for). It was at this point that it felt like football was back. Proper reactions to the on field action, cheering, screaming, and agony from both sets of fans.

Our team were glad to be back dealing with all the usual issues faced with fans being in attendance of a football fixture. The team was jubilant at having the chance to do what they love, work with fans and provide and enjoyable experience.

As the 17th of May cut off for events passed, we saw fans return to Premier League action as we oversaw the final fixtures at:

Craven Cottage (Fulham FC)

London Stadium (West Ham United FC)

Amex Arena (Brighton & Hove Albion FC)

It was great to see fans returning to their “homes” that they had been without for so long.

The season was rounded off with the EFL Play Offs at Wembley Stadium, three days of football at the home of football. Fans from Brentford, Swansea, Blackpool, Lincoln, Morecambe and Newport all saw their teams either win promotion or suffer the agony of a Wembley defeat.

It had been far too long for the die hard supporters of their teams to see their clubs in action, in person. And suffice to say, we hope to be saying goodbye to “Behind Closed Door” fixtures for a very long time.

The Boat Race returns! After a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the classic Oxford v Cambridge, Men’s and Women’s, Boat Race set sail once again in a historic event.

There was to be a twist to this years event however, the race would not take place along the River Thames as it normally would. This year saw the race moved to Ely, near Cambridge, to stroke along the Great River Ouse.

We were proudly offered to continue our ongoing relationship with the event and set out own sails to help the event take place out of it’s normal staging area. Wise Security provided a number of different staffing categories for the event, including Security (SIA Door Supervisors), Event Stewards and Traffic Management Operatives.

All though this years’ event was pushed behind closed doors, there were a lucky few who lived along the river who had a great view of the race, as well as our teams patrolling the riversides ensuring there were no gathering as per the COVID restrictions at the time.

Thankfully the residents of Ely, Queen Adelaide and Littleport all took heed of the warning to stay away and the event was a great success. We were also thankful for some unusually nice March weather!

Post event, the Event Manager for The Boat Race passed on the below “I’ve been really happy with your whole team, who have been nothing but a pleasure to work with.” – This kind of feedback is crucial to us, and it is always our goal to ensure our clients are pleased with the level of service we have provided.

Our Operations Manager, Daniel Frost, had this to say after heading up the event “It is always a pleasure to work at The Boat Race as the people we work alongside are incredibly professional and always in good spirits. This year has presented many challenges with COVID and a change of venue, but these are always challenges we enjoy to overcome and give us a great deal to learn from.”

Next year’s Boat Race is scheduled to return to the Capital along the River Thames, we look forward to supporting it once again, but this time with around 250,000 spectators all eager to be part of the historic event.
