The FA Cup semi-finals weekend at Wembley Stadium attracted more than 160,000 spectators, and Wise Security Services are proud to have been a part of these memorable matches that included Wigan Athletic v Arsenal and Hull City v Sheffield United.

This wasn’t the only memorable thing that happened over this particular weekend as one of our Supervisory Team, Courtnay Mackie, received an ACE Award after displaying excellent leadership skills to overcome a particularly tricky situation. Had it not been for Courtnay’s quick thinking, the issue could have escalated into an ugly situation between rival supporters.

The ACE Award, which is an initiative spearheaded by Wembley Stadium, consists of a badge, memorabilia glass, vouchers and a certificate. Having had a number of staff who have received this award in the past, we have found it to be an excellent initiative and something that gives the staff a boost, increasing their job satisfaction.

Courtnay said: “I’m chuffed to bits to have received this award.

“What made it even more special was how Julia Pendry (Wembley head of strategic security/operations) took time to personally present this to me.

“I’m going to use this as a platform for other staff to strive for whilst carrying out their duties.”

Continuing our long-standing relation with Wembley Stadium, we very much look forward to working closely with this prestigious venue in delivering a bespoke service for all future events.
