UCI Track Cycling At The Lee Valley VeloPark

The Lee Valley VeloPark, on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, hosted two rounds of the UCI Track Cycling Champions League in early December. The UCI Track Cycling Champions League is at the top of the elite level of track cycling in the world, those in attendance were thrilled by the incredible speed and athleticism displayed from these elite riders.
Wise Security were the sole Security and Stewarding supplier for this major event, providing teams for all of the below:
- Asset Protection Day and Night
- Access Control throughout use of the building
- Last Mile Stewarding
- Bag and Body Searching SIA
- Ticket Scanners / External Crowd Management
- Seating Stewards
- Hospitality Staff
- Management and Radio Controllers
With all of the above duties, it is important for Wise Security to have a varied staff pool, able to be flexible to provide the correct service for whatever is required. Our team of Level 3 Spectator Safety Supervisors, Level 2 Spectator Safety Stewards and SIA Door Supervisors are all used to working in varied role so can adapt to meet the needs that are required.
Our Office Manager, Shelby Mackie, who was on site helping with logistics and staffing, had this to say about this amazing event, “The set up at the Lee Valley VeloPark is incredible, the fans really get an incredible experience with music, light shows and not to forget the fast-paced cycling. Our team really stepped up over the two days and all with a smile, everybody enjoyed working the event which is always a positive!”
With the help of our incredible team, along with our client, British Cycling, and the venue, Lee Valley VeloPark, we were all able to deliver a successful two-day event which saw crowds akin to the Olympics and Commonwealth Games which also held events at this iconic venue.
