Continuing in their SEVENTH YEAR as the supplier of Security and Stewarding staff to the COPPER BOX ARENA on the Olympic Park, Stratford WISE SECURITY were delighted to work with the LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION (LTA) at the 2019 Fed Cup tennis event.
This year’s event took place on 20/21 April and had two full days of completely ‘sold out’ attendance to watch stars like Johanna Konta play in this GB v Kazakhstan competition.
WSSL supplied all of the staff for the build up and breakdown of this event and on event days had approximately 70 staff assisting the public in Safety and Security matters. Sue Highsted oversaw the operation on behalf of WSSL and on event days James Wise, a former county tennis player himself, attended and liaised with the LTA.
Sue Highsted made reference to the high level of enjoyment the audience had on both days and said “ the capacity crowd each day were treated to some great tennis and it was a pleasure to be a part of such a prestigious event”.
Johanna Konta beat Yulia Putintseva in a classic match that saw her lose the first set but then come back to win the next two and help team GB to a 3-1 victory. This means Great Britain are promoted to World Group 11 for the first time in 26 years and Wise Security contributed to the off court success while the GB Team done the business on the court!
